Helping Australians Choose Wisely.

Meet the person behind the advice

G’day. I’m Adrian.

I started Better Life Decisions for one simple reason: Australians deserve useful advice that helps them make the right decision — not another website trying to sell them something.

I’m not a professional reviewer sitting in a studio surrounded by free products.

I’m Adrian. I created Better Life Decisions because I’ve always been the person friends, family and workmates ask when they are trying to work out what to buy, what something is really worth, or whether the more expensive option is actually any better.

I started working on a farm from around the age of 11. It taught me early that money comes from hard work, that things need to last, and that buying something properly the first time is usually better than wasting money replacing the wrong thing later.

My working life has taken me through hands-on environments, retail, customer service, management, manufacturing and warehousing. Those jobs teach you something pretty quickly: flashy claims are easy. Value, reliability and real-world usefulness are what matter once somebody has actually spent their money.

Working in major retail also gave me years of experience seeing how products are marketed, how customers make buying decisions and how easy it can be to spend more than you actually need to. At Harvey Norman I worked my way into management and was 2IC during the store’s first million-dollar month.

I’ve also spent plenty of my own money over the years on technology, cars, audio equipment, property, travel and everyday household gear. Sometimes I got it right. Sometimes I learned the expensive way.

Better Life Decisions is my way of turning those lessons into something useful for other Australians.

A career built around people, products and practical decisions.

01

Practical beginnings

I started working on a farm from around the age of 11. It taught me early about hard work, looking after what you own and understanding the real value of money. That mindset still shapes the way I look at products and spending today.

02

Retail taught me how people buy

Working in major retail and management gave me a front-row seat to the way products are sold, how customers make decisions and how easy it is to spend more than you really need to.

03

Manufacturing changed the perspective

Years around manufacturing and warehousing reinforced something I already believed: specifications on paper only tell part of the story. Reliability, usability and how something performs every day matter more.

04

Better Life Decisions

Eventually I decided to put all of that together: research, practical experience and an obsession with comparing options properly. The result is the site you are reading now.

I care more about whether it is right for you than whether it is expensive.

01

Value over hype

A premium product is only a better product if the extra money buys something you will genuinely notice or use.

02

Explain the compromise

Every option has trade-offs. I want you to understand what you gain, what you give up and who each choice really suits.

03

Respect your money

People work hard for their money. Advice should help protect it, not invent reasons for them to spend more of it.

04

Say when I don't know

Trust matters more than pretending to have an answer. If something needs more research, that is exactly what I would rather say.

Some of the stuff I can happily disappear down a rabbit hole researching.

Cars Performance, ownership costs, insurance and what is actually worth paying for.
Audio Headphones, IEMs, DACs, amplifiers and chasing great sound without wasting money.
Technology TVs, networking, gadgets and the never-ending question: do you really need the upgrade?
Property & money Making better long-term decisions instead of chasing quick wins.
Travel Finding practical options that make travelling easier without unnecessary expense.
Research Probably the real hobby: comparing everything until the sensible answer becomes obvious.

Ask me.

Tell me what you are choosing between, what matters to you and what you want to spend. I’ll help you think it through.
